Big cities can make for an exciting vacation adventure, no doubt.  The Big Apple has Broadway and the Windy City has the Navy Pier and Miracle/Magnficient Mile. And both certainly offer world-class cuisine and museums;  but after a couple of days it becomes abundantly clear that big city-vacations can also become a real study in seemingly non-stop bustling activity with folks scittering about like hungry crawly critters in a oversized Ant Farm. 

No disrespect, but after a while, it's just nice and perhaps even a bit reassuring to know that there are vacation destinations like little ole' Gainesville www.visitgainesville.com  that serves up it's own level of world-class samples of arts, culture, gentle hikes on tree-lined river paths, incredible and even "nummy" cuisine at a pace that is deternined by the patron, not the place.  How 'bout those apples?!
