Cheer for Heavy Equipment Operators at the Annual Equipment Roadeo.
This exciting annual event brings together skilled public works employees from across tenured departments in Alachua County and surrounding counties. Competitors demonstrate expertise and precision in operating essential public works equipment, with timed challenges including the Mini Excavator Bowling Station, Loader Ball Barrel Station, Vac Truck Dunk Station, Grapple Handling Challenge, and the Backhoe Softball Competition.
Each three-minute challenge emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards. Awards are presented to participants achieving the highest scores and fastest times. Spectators are invited, free of charge, to support their local public works teams. A BBQ lunch by Hill’s BBQ & Catering is available for purchase for $10.
