The UF Bud Shorstein Center for Jewish Studies and the University of Florida Hillel will open the exhibition October Seventh: A Space of Anguish, Loss, Anger, Memory, and Sorrow. Launched by ANU – The Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv, October Seventh brings together works from 25 artists offering different looks at ongoing realities for those impacted by the events of October 7th, 2023. Some of them are living artists, some deceased – either murdered on October 7th or died during the ongoing war – while others are residents (or former residents) of the southern areas, who suffered the loss of their loved ones, their homes, or whose families were affected by the horrors of the massacre.

The exhibition offers a rare glimpse to how Israeli culture has reacted to the war, and the unique creative burst felt among many Israelis since it began. Art works, music and a video installation will be on display.

Admission is free of charge, registration is required online
