Join the UF Center for African Studies for a two-day conference exploring African intellectual traditions and the dynamics of knowledge production in the past and present.

Scholars of history, archaeology, literature, anthropology, and human geography will confront the parameters of biography and the nation-state to consider more capacious understandings of intellectuals, their ideas, and their communities at the Gwendolen M. Carter Conference 2025. Thursday’s sessions take place in UF Reitz Union Room 3315. Friday’s sessions take place in UF Smathers Library East Room 100.
