Single Black Female in the Navy

Step into the world of Shenandoah, a young, single, and ambitious woman navigating life in the military in “Single Black Female in the Navy.” This compelling play follows her journey as she joins the Navy in the early 1980s, stepping into the footsteps of her father, a Navy veteran.

This play starts after Shenandoah graduates from bootcamp and makes it to Great Mistakes, Illinois where she also discovers love with Dollar Bill, a sailor from the North. But when duty calls and he is deployed, their relationship is put to the test.
