Overview

The Lake Alto-Lake Santa Fe Canal was dug in the 1880’s to get oranges from Melrose to the railroad in Waldo. This talk covers the history of the canal and what’s going on with it nowadays.

Presenters Bob Gould and Dave Edwards are long time Gainesvillians who met through their mutual love of sailing, canoeing and kayaking on our local waters.

Perspectives in the Parks is a monthly program features experts in their field sharing information on a variety of topics including science, nature, history and art.
