The Community Weatherization Coalition is looking for new members to join their Energy Coach team! If you live in Alachua County, Florida, and want to connect with your community and the planet in a hands-on way, then THIS is the perfect way to do it!
When you take the volunteer training, you’ll learn loads of great information from energy experts during this workshop, including how to:
* Perform home energy tune-ups for local residents, inspecting homes to identify ways to improve energy and water efficiency
* Install water-saving shower heads, faucet aerators, pipe insulation, LED bulbs, outlet gaskets, and more!
* Understand and analyze utility bills
* Learn to lower your own bill and reduce your carbon footprint too!
This THREE-PART, 12-hour workshop will take place:
I: Tuesday, March 25th from 5:30-8:30 pm
II: Tuesday, April 1st from 5:30-8:30 pm
III: Saturday, April 5th from 9:00 am-3:00 pm
*Note: Must attend all 3 dates to graduate as an Energy Coach
Volunteering with the CWC is flexible, but our program is most sustainable when our trainees can perform at least six home energy tune-ups a year for us. {Note, each tune-up lasts about 3 hours, takes place during daylight hours, and is offered every day of the week to our clients!}
