Cellon Oak Park sunset

The largest live oak tree in Florida, the Cellon Oak north of Gainesville is more than 30 feet in diameter and shades a space that puts most other oaks to shame.

The Cellon Live Oak, at Cellon Oak Park, is a Florida Co-Champion Live Oak named for its former owner, Ralph W. Cellon. The oak’s circumference is 30 feet, it is 85 feet tall and its crown spread is 160 feet. The park was donated to Alachua County by the United States Small Business Administration as part of a repossession process to preserve the tree and allow public access. The park offers a picturesque setting for small outdoor weddings and family pictures.
